Bridging the Gap: Year 10 students Connect with Pre-War European Jewry through Artifacts

As the Year 10 cohort began their journey into the study of the Shoah, they began with an exploration of the world of Pre-War Jewry in Eastern and Western Europe. For their assessment task students selected an artifact from this period and analysed its significance and the legacy it leaves us from that period. Students also were tasked with producing a creative interpretation of the artifact. We were impressed with the diary entries, poems, songs, paintings and drawings we received. Here is Billy Altman's artistic interpretation of a photo (see attached) of a common meeting place of members of the Jewish Labour Bund in Warsaw.
